Friends Work Days – New Office

Update: Due to the inclement weather forecast for this weekend, the workday on February 3 has been cancelled.

The Friends work day in November was productive and fun! Dini O’Roark, Kevin O’Roark, Skip Purper, and Gary See made great progress on the new Friends office space. Thanks to the volunteers, Skip’s talent and tools, and several subsequent work days by Kevin and Skip, the offices have been primed and painted and are looking good. We’ll have more Friends work days on Jan 6th, Feb 3rd, and Mar 2nd, if you’d like to help. Meet at the Santa Maria Valley Railroad office at the Osburn yard at 9 a.m. Lunch is provided!

Preservation of SMVRR Blueprints

The Friends of SMVRR have begun the task of scanning and archiving blueprints and drawings from the age of steam. These engineering blueprints are of the steam locomotives that were previously in service on the Santa Maria Valley Railroad. Help us preserve the original SMVRR Steam Era Blueprints.
Details are on Blueprint Preservation page.
