Program Donations
Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad relies on charitable contributions for our programs to preserve, improve and interpret the historical and contemporary aspects of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad. Donations support our educational programs and restoration projects. Our current projects include
Blueprint Preservation, Motorcar Restoration, and the
Historic Railroad Corridor. Please click on the donate button below and select the project that you'd like to support. Donations to the
General Fund (to be used at the discretion of Friends) are always appreciated.
Year-End Fundraiser to move Caboose 210
Help us acquire SMVRR Caboose 210, which is currently on display at the Amtrak station in Guadalupe. The Amtrak Station and parking area are due to be completely redone and will include removal of the caboose. Our acquisition will include expenses for a crane and other costs but will be well worth the effort to save this historic piece of Santa Maria Valley rolling stock.
Scholarship Fund
An annual scholarship of $1000 is awarded based on merit to a qualifying student pursuing a degree or technical training in the Industrial Arts with a career goal in the rail industry. For more information about this program, see the
