Volunteering
Members of the Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroadhave a unique opportunity to
participate in rail activities sponsored by the Santa Maria Valley Railroad such as, Open
House at the Depot, Speeder Events, Dinner Train Excursions and Rail Fest at the
SMVRR. Volunteering at these events can be interesting, educational, and very
enjoyable! To that end, we have established a volunteer program that will allow a
potential volunteer to acquire the necessary training and knowledge to be an effective,
knowledgeable and SAFE volunteer. This will not only enhance the experience of the
guests of the particular rail event, but will also help insure a safe and pleasurable
experience for the volunteer!
